Corporate Team Building

Team Building Workshops will vary in content and structure depending on the objectives of the workshops but in general, workshops are designed to facilitate teams in gaining an understanding about how their team works and encourage them to build a plan to achieve progress and improvement.

Some of the solution focused workshops we have run have been:

Working Effectively with Others

The objective of this workshop is to understand own and others’ personality types and preferences in order to increase team communication and effectiveness.

Understanding that people are different and think differently is key to understanding and treating others. By looking at personality types, we can understand our and other’s preferences and the behavioural preferences of the group. Myers Briggs Personality Type Indicator™ is used to assess these preferences and is taken online before the workshop, followed by feedback to ascertain “best fit” and explain what this is.

The workshop is interactive and exercises are used to demonstrate individual differences and similarities such as our work style, communication style, learning style, problem-solving approach and suggestions for development. Group dynamics are explored to see how the group can optimise group functioning to achieve group goals and work together as a cohesive team.

By the end of the workshop, team members will have built a team profile, team awareness and understanding as well as constructed team actions plans for ongoing development.

Team Strengths Finder

The objective of this workshop is to optimise performance through self knowledge and that of the team members. The workshop focus is on problem-solving, mutual appreciation, leadership, communication styles, risk-taking, decision-making, trust, diversity and conflict management.

An effective team is one which knows what its strengths are; collectively and individually to optimise performance. These team workshops uses The Highlands Ability Battery™ as the assessment tool. Pre workshop, individuals take the online battery and receive a detailed feedback so they have an understanding of their innate strengths. In the workshop the team gains an understanding of the groups strengths and abilities by combining individual strengths. Other areas that affect understanding of self, others and group performance, such as, skills, personal style and values are also examined through different exercises. The workshop focuses on understanding problem-solving, mutual appreciation, leadership, communication styles, risk-taking, decision-making, diversity and conflict management. Through a group exercise, team members will gain realisation how these strengths can be used to optimize team performance.

Effective Team Communication

Communication can be the lynch pin as to whether a team succeeds or fails as a cohesive unit. Through different assessment tools we find out what the preferred way of communication is for individuals and overall teams and how this can be improved. Relevant group exercises and skills training build on group communication strengths and areas for development.

Team Change

The objective of this workshop is to encourage a change culture within the team; one that supports initiatives and drives the pace of change and supports others in working through change. Teams can have to deal with constant change which includes managing new and different tasks or projects. In order for them to be successful, they need to work collectively towards the same goals. Teams can be described as working through four critical stages:

Through analysis, we find out what the individual and group effectiveness at each stage and work with the team to bring about improvements.
